Saturday night, one of the most off-the-hook live bands I have ever seen – jump-blues-swing Louis Prima Jr. and The Witnesses from Las Vegas – will blow the lid off The Viper Room on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. It’s Prima Jr.’s first local gig since last summer, when the band threw a big album release party for its wild second album, titled “Blow.” Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Call The Viper Room at 310-358-1881 for more info and tickets.
Saturday night on SCVTV’s “House Blend,” don’t miss the special encore telecast featuring The fahr.west Sessions. The SCV-based acoustic aces throw down four songs by bandleader “Gruven” Tom Lamog. That’s Saturday at 10 p.m on SCVTV and streaming everywhere at scvtv.com.
And speaking of release parties and “House Blend,” SCV singer-songwriter-guitarist Pat Nason is hosting an online release party Sunday for his video for “A Good Old-Fashioned American Boy.” That’s one of the tracks from Pat’s “Nearly New” EP. And on Saturday, Nason and his band The Regular Crew will tape an edition of “House Blend” to air in the spring. Check out the Pat Nason Facebook page for the link to Sunday’s online party.
