Friday night from 7 to 9:30, the Valencia Jazz and Blues Concert Series returns to Town Center Drive at McBean Parkway, on the street outside the Hyatt Valencia. The summer series launches with the Tony Galla Band featuring “House Blend” favorite Sara Niemietz and Mark LeVang.

Saturday afternoon and evening, the 6th annual Roadshow Revival tribute to American music icon Johnny Cash rocks the Ventura Fairgrounds. Los Lobos headlines. Also on the bill: The Paladins, Dale Watson & the Lonestars, James Intveld of The Blasters, Johnny Two Bags from Social Distortion, “House Blend” stars Hard Six, and a bunch more touring and local bands. Along with the music, the Roadshow includes food trucks and other vendors, custom cars, cool motorcycles, and hot pin-ups. Tickets go from $5 to $175. And speaking of SCVTV’s “House Blend,” don’t miss the premiere telecast of our special edition featuring Woodwork on Saturday night. The hot young progressive mostly acoustic instrumental trio features by Avery Merritt on violin-fiddle, Rory Glenn on acoustic guitar, and Brendan Coyle on piano. They perform four outstanding originals — a sneak preview of their debut album, due to drop later this summer. So see Woodwork carve in their TV debut on “House Blend” hosted by yours truly, Saturday night at 10, telecast on SCVTV and streaming everywhere at scvtv.com.
