Aubrey Bekendam from The Master’s College was selected to the NAIA All America women’s volleyball team as an honorable mention.

The junior setter had 909 assists and 285 digs. She was also selected to the All Golden State Athletic Conference team.

Ashley Kuhlman also earned a spot on the all-conference team. She was second in the conference in hitting performance and 17th in the NAIA.

In college basketball, The Master’s College women’s basketball team is ranked No. 20 in the NAIA. The Lady Mustangs dropped six spots. They were ranked No. 14 last week.

The Master’s College women are 6-3.

In high school basketball, the Canyon boys beat Newbury Park, 68-44, in the Ventura County Classic.

Ben Taufahema scored 24 points and had four assists for Canyon. The Cowboys won their first game of the season. They are 1-2.

The Valencia boys beat Royal, 73-64, in the Ventura County Classic. Malik McCowan scored 20 points in the game. The Vikings improved to 4-1.

The Saugus girls basketball team beat Milken, 58-27, in the first round of the Milken Tournament. Katie Roberts scored 21 points for Saugus.

The Saugus girls are 4-2.
