[KHTS] – The Golden Valley Grizzlies football team took West Ranch to overtime, but fell short of winning its first Foothill League game.

West Ranch won the game, 26-23. Kobe Diamond caught the game-winning touchdown in overtime.

Brandon Flores kicked a 34-yard field goal to give Golden Valley a short-lived lead in the extra period.

The Golden Valley football team has lost 43 Foothill League games in a row.

In other action in the Foothill League, Hart beat Saugus, 43-12, in a game heard live on AM 1220 KHTS and telecast on SCVTV.

Hart’s Trent Irwin set two school records with 284 yards receiving and scored six touchdowns against Saugus.

Valencia beat Canyon, 45-21.

Valencia scored 32 points in the third quarter to blow the game open against Canyon.

Hart and Valencia improved to 4-0 in the Foothill League, setting up a championship showdown on Friday night. Hart plays Valencia for the Foothill League title.

The Santa Clarita Christian football team lost to Capistrano Valley Christian, 49-15, in a San Joaquin League game.

Santa Clarita Christian dropped to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in league.

The Albert Einstein Academy football team lost to Concordia from Sylmar, 54-52. Only 11 players suited up for Einstein in the 8-man football affair.

Einstein dropped to 1-6.

In college football, the College of the Canyons lost to Ventura College, 64-35, in a National Division, Northern Conference game.

COC dropped to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in conference.

In the NBA, the Clippers lost to the Sacramento Kings, 98-92. It was the first loss of the season for the Clippers.

In the NHL, the Kings lost to the Carolina Hurricanes, 3-2, in what is turning into a disastruous road trip.

The Kings have lost four games in a row on the road. They wrap up their five-game swing in Dallas against the Stars on Tuesday night.
