The county of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation and the High Desert Modular Model Railroad Club, will present the annual William S. Hart Train Show in Hart Hall at Hart Park in Old Town Newhall on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14 and 15.

Guests will see HO-scale models of many passenger and freight trains passing through various California scenery, including a city, old-time logging yards, rolling countrysides, and even an Old West town.

Sunday’s are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission is free for all ages.

model railroadSaturday’s hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.;

model railroadThe HDMMRC, which promotes the hobby in the Antelope Valley region, will allow children from the ages of 5 to 17 to operate a train with a throttle and a club member volunteer for a lap or two around the layout on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

When completed (and hopefully without incident), the child will be awarded an “Honorary Model Railroad Engineer” certificate.

Hart Hall and William S. Hart Regional Park are located at 24151 Newhall Avenue, Newhall 91321.
