Saugus High School initiated a soft lockdown early Thursday morning after an unidentified male reportedly called the school office with threatening statements. The following account is from the Facebook page of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station:
A soft lockdown was initiated at Saugus High School Thursday morning around 10:25 a.m., and it was lifted around 10:55 a.m.
An unidentified male reportedly called the school office, making threatening statements, and then hung up.
We do not take these incidents lightly, even if it is thought to be a hoax.
We had a team of deputies and sergeants immediately on scene investigating, and doing a thorough campus safety check.
These are your kids, these are our kids—and our top priority is keeping them safe.
The soft lockdown comes just a day after a 19-year-old is suspected of killing 17 people at his former high school in Parkland, Florida.
