[San Ramon, Calif.] – Accela, the leading provider of cloud-based civic engagement solutions for government, announced today that the City of Santa Clarita, California, has selected the Accela Civic Platform for its new software foundation. The City will work with Accela and infrastructure management firm Woolpert on a citywide upgrade to the technology infrastructure that supports its government, business and citizens.

Santa Clarita is the third largest city in Los Angeles County, with more than 176,300 residents. (Editor’s note: Way more. More like 208,000.) Based on a range of Accela technologies, the initiative to modernize the technology foundation meets important priorities established by the Santa Clarita City Council: to continue ensuring the transparency of government business and to make it easier for citizens and businesses to engage with the City. Initial focus areas for the upgrade include the permitting and asset management systems that play a critical role in everyday operations of the City.

With the Accela Civic Platform, the City will be able to easily add new solutions and applications as its effort to modernize continues.
