Saugus Union School District has been awarded $22,500 on behalf of the Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation to support the 2016 to 2017 school year’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math plan.

The award was specifically given to the Curriculum and Instruction Department for support of the STE(A)M program activities at fifteen of the school sites.

The SUSD Board said in their SUSD Governing Board meeting agenda that “the grant will be used to offset the charges for the district’s Math Field Day Event, Toastmaster Competition, District Awards Evening, Festival of the Arts and additional hours for teachers to assist and train for these events.”

Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation has not yet released other recipients of their grants.
