[KHTS] – Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are searching for the suspects and the victims in an alleged car shooting in Newhall Thursday night.
Deputies were dispatched to the Arco Gas Station located at 24020 Newhall Ave. at approximately 5 p.m. after receiving a report of a car-to-car shooting, said Sgt. Shreves with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.
“We had drivers pass by on a busy street that saw the shooting and called 911,” Shreves said. “When we got to the scene we found shell casings (but no car).”
Sheriff’s officials then received a second call about two Hispanic men patching up bullet holes in a car, Shreves said.
Once at the scene, deputies located what appeared to be the victim’s car, a white Lexus, and took it into custody, according to Shreves.
The two possible victims are described as being Hispanic men with possible gang affiliations, said Shreves.
As of 8:30 p.m., deputies were searching for both parties involved in the alleged shooting, Shreves said.
No victims have been found at any local hospitals, according to Shreves.
According to Shreves, it is not certain whether the shooting was gang-related.
There is surveillance video from the Arco Gas Station that detectives are looking into and the COBRA, or Career Offenders, Burglary Robbery Assault, unit is currently investigating the incident, according to Lt. Norris of the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
