Snapshot for the Week of 07/16/2012 through 07/22/2012
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station
Crime Prevention Unit
[LASD] – There were 13 part one/serious crimes reported in the Valencia area this week. This week has seen the lowest part one crime activity in the month of July. I am happy to report there were no vehicle burglaries this week however, there was one grand theft auto reported from the 27000 block of Rio Prado Drive. The vehicle is described as a 2006, silver, Acura. The vehicle has been placed in the stolen vehicle system and detectives are currently working on a possible lead in order to solve this crime.
A local gym/fitness facility reported another theft from a locker located inside the men’s locker room. The report indicated the victim locked his locker using a combo style lock. When he returned to his locker, approximately one hour later, he found the lock on his locker had been cut off and his personal property had been stolen. No witnesses were located for this incident.
Please do not become a victim! Secure all personal belongings by not leaving your valuables visible in your vehicles. Please roll up all windows, and lock all doors before leaving your vehicle (whether it’s parked in your driveway or not). Do not take valuable items (money, watches, jewelry or cell phones) with you to the gym. If you must bring the items, lock the personal items in the truck of your vehicle prior to entering the location.
Report all suspicious activity by calling the Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
