Commenting on Thursday’s victory, TMU head coach Allan Vince said, “Tonight was a big win for this program. Not because of the scores, not because of the stats, but because it marked the sixth match in a row that we came out victorious, and it was our third consecutive win on the road against tough opponents. The next two weeks is going to test this team to the limit, and it is wins like tonight, that will be critical reminders for our team during the tough matches ahead. The Lord is doing something great with these ladies, and it is exciting to be a part of it. An athlete of note who turned the match around for us was freshmen Autumn Stevens, who came off the bench and lead us to victory with amazing net play.”
TMU is now 5-2 in five-set matches. Additionally, the Lady Mustangs are currently one match behind conference-leading and No. 3 nationally ranked Westmont College (17-0, 6-0).
The Lady Mustangs now turn their attention to Tuesday where they will take on Westmont at 7:00 p.m. in Santa Barbara.
