Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
Zone 5-Valencia had twenty Part-1 Crimes reported during the past week. The criminal incidents included residential burglaries, grand theft auto, and shoplifting from local businesses.
A residential burglary occurred on Monday at 6:00 pm on the 28100 block of Mcbean Parkway. Entrance and exit was made by prying open the rear garage door. The items stolen were various tools totaling $890. Shortly after the incident, the tools were recovered by the victim who confronted the suspect who took the tools. The investigation is being handled by Santa Clarita Detectives assigned to the Burglary Unit. A second burglary occurred at 3:30 pm on the 25200 block of Via Sistine. The victim left his bicycle unsecured in an open garage. The bicycle was recovered within 30 minutes and the suspect a male adult was arrested and charged for burglary.
A grand theft auto occurred on the 24000 block of Bridgeport Drive between 8:00 am and 10:00 hours. The vehicle was parked on the street in front of the residence. No suspects have been identified in this. The victim reported that the passenger side window was shattered by an unknown object. Items stolen were the headrests, a car stereo, and clothing.
A theft from unlocked vehicle occurred on the 27200 block of Rosemont Lane between the hours of 10:30 pm and 8:00 am. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in front of the residence. Items stolen were the garage opener and $25 from the center console area of the vehicle. No suspect(s) have been identified at this time in any of these reports.
As always do not become a victim! Please do not leave valuables unattended in public areas or leave items visible in your vehicles. Take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle or secure items in locked trunks. Remember to roll up all windows and lock doors before exiting your vehicles. If possible, park in well-lit areas. If you see any suspicious activity or vehicles in your neighborhood, please call the Sheriff’s Station immediately at 661-255-1121.
There were five arrests made this past week by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area. Arrest charges included arson and multiple shoplifting crimes occurring at local businesses.
