Canyon Country East, Zone 8

Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Canyon Country East:

(2) Residential burglaries (3) Vehicle Burglaries (1) Theft from vehicle (4) Grand theft auto (1) Robbery.

There were two residential burglaries reported in Zone 8 last week. The first incident occurred near 27000 block of English Ivy. The suspect entered an unlocked vehicle in the victim’s driveway and used the garage door remote that was inside the vehicle to gain entry into the victims garage. The victim was unsure what items were taken in this incident.

The second residential burglary was reported near the 18400 block of Sandy Drive. In this incident the victims were on vacation and away from their home for 2 weeks. When they returned they found their front door kicked in and several of their personal items missing.

There were 4 grand theft autos reported over the past week. The first was reported near the intersection of Sand Canyon Road/Ruth Springs. The vehicle is a 1968 red Pontiac Firebird. The second incident occurred near the 27000 block of Aspen Place. The vehicle is a 2011 GMC Yukon that was later recovered near the intersection of Jakes Way and Sandy Drive. A 2000 Pontiac Sunfire was stolen near the 17000 block of Dove Willow St. The suspect drove the vehicle to “76” gas station at the intersection of Sand Canyon Road and Soledad Canyon Road where he left that vehicle and stole a 2009 Dodge Caliber from a victim that was getting gas.
