Gianna Crimi with The Master’s women’s soccer coach Curtis Lewis
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College women’s soccer team has signed Stevenson Ranch native Gianna Crimi.
“I chose The Master’s College because of the great Christian values, the academic programs, and all that they have to offer,” commented Crimi. “I am looking forward to making life-long friends with people that have the same values that I have, growing in my relationship with Jesus, playing soccer for the Lady Mustangs, and receiving an education that will assist me in my future.”
A senior at West Ranch High School, Crimi plans to compete for the Lady Mustangs in 2014 at the right defender spot.
Crimi enters The Master’s College with a seven-year soccer resume centered entirely around the Select Cities Soccer Club, a Santa Clarita-based club soccer team. In her time at West Ranch, Crimi has captained the varsity track and field sprint team.
The newest addition to the Lady Mustang family has a handful of collegiate athletic goals including, “Assist the Lady Mustangs in any way possible, play soccer in a way that glorifies God, and help the team move towards an NAIA National Championship.”
With plans to major in English, Crimi aims to apply her studies to a career in broadcasting after college.
Commenting on Crimi’s commitment, head coach Curtis Lewis stated, “Gianna’s a hard-nosed defender. She’s fast and a great ball winner. Our desire is to have her step in and possibly fill a role immediately. I believe she’s going to have a great career as a Lady Mustang.”
Appearing to already be on the same page, Crimi matched Lewis’ excitement by saying “Coach Lewis and the girls on the team have made me feel very welcomed. The environment at TMC makes me feel like I am at home. I’m excited to be a Lady Mustang!”
