The carts that were allegedly stolen by two Santa Clarita women.

[KHTS] – Two women are in custody Wednesday near the Ralph’s in Canyon Country, after witnesses reported the suspects allegedly stole the electric scooters from the supermarket, as well as some groceries.

Mcayla Petty, 20 of Canyon Country, and Stevee Thacker, 19, of Castaic, are being held on grand theft charges at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Deputies responded to the supermarket on the 19300 block of Soledad Canyon Road around 8:22 p.m., after witnesses reported two women appeared to be riding the carts around the parking lot under the influence.
The store’s manager reportedly contacted deputies after witnesses in the store reported two women who did not appear to be disabled were riding the carts around, appearing intoxicated.
Deputies caught up with the suspects in the nearby Food 4 Less parking lot.
The suspects reportedly saw the deputies and then left the carts, but they were found with Monster energy drinks, Prego Italian sauce, Funions, Mountain Dew, Ben and Jerry’s Half-Baked Ice Cream, a Clearblue pregnancy test and a Red Bull, according to the Sheriff’s Department report.
The suspects are due in court Friday.
They are being held on grand theft charges due to the value of the electric scooters.

  7. The most telling part if this story may be what was left in the carts.

  8. This is actually funny! Hmmm can’t go very fast! I hope the batteries were charged!!

  9. Katy Stewart says:

Starla Caloroso Sandoval, not a good idea!!!

  10. Chuck says:

Nice. Too bad they dont crack down on all the folks who stroll home with the shopping carts. They too cost a few hundred bucks each as well And the cost to replace or retrieve them are passed on to the consumer.

  11. Tisa Belle says:

Toodles La Leelee, we made the news again!

  12. I bet the whole sheriff’s dept showed up like they tend to do.

  13. I saw them riding in them on soledad on my way to drop off my kids to school craziness

  14. They should be punched in the head since they don’t appear to be using them. The elderly, the handicapped, and the injured (like me, currently suffering from a broken foot) rely upon these carts to do our shopping. Throw the book at them.

  15. Paul Mahone says:

    First world problems.

  16. No there’s a pursuit I’d love to watch….PITT maneuver anyone

  17. Hahaha 2 funny!! N to think people have nothing better to do than to “report” 2 women taking motorized scooters from ralphs!! I could C them following the ladies down soledad in their vehicles with cell phones in hand!! Lmfao!!! Canyon country people!!

  18. Mikee Hart says:

Shannon, Bogie, you two need to be good ;)

  19. You could run… But you can’t hide… Lol IDIOTS

  20. I saw them cruising around by Buffalo Wild Wings in the parking lot harassing a couple of guys. As I was pulling out a cop car pulled in looking for them.

  21. this right here is a problem with Santa Clarita. racism runs deep in this valley, disgusting!!

    • Mike Navarro says:

Lol if that’s what you think the problem is then you must be delusional

    • “Delusional” that’s all u got? Unlike the wanna be goodie goodies of santa fake Clarita I am the only one with my eye’s wide open to the real problem…..racism, discrimination and police corruption all targeting the less fortunate

    • Mike Navarro says:

Then remove yourself from it, I mean no disrespect by the comment. If I genuinely felt as you do I definitely wouldn’t be here anymore

    • No disrespect taken. I rather fight for the people then run away from the problem. We must stand as one to win the battle

    • Mike Navarro says:

You have to admit that there is a lot less descrimination in our than in other cities. There is a difference between racism/descrimination and facts. If the percentage of the crime happen to be a particular nationality and they are more aware of said nationality and we still cry racism when they do the best they can is unfair. That said they obviously are far from perfect but I have always tried to live my life excuse free and refuse to be held back because”I’m not the right color”

    • What does that have to do with stealing carts?

  22. With all the activity happening in Canyon Country of late, they should set up another police station.

  23. I’d have paid to see that one…

  24. Stay classy Canyon Country

  25. Canyon country the next san fernando .time to go

  26. Johnny Valle estas viejas lol

  27. Kelly Spalliero haha

  28. I saw these dumb girls riding them and called Ralph’s and asked if they were missing their electric carts. I guess they knocked over some displays and stole from the store as well. We saw the cops pull up too and they hopped off the carts and attempted to walk away like they did nothing wrong.

  29. These were not women!!! Stupid seniors fromGolden Valley high school!!!!

  30. Bobby Gatica says:

And by the way they r going to put cop station in canyon country I go to city meeting I know and when the new town is built on sand canyon this city is going to have a lot of problems I live in canyon country 19 yrs iam a block watch leader

  31. Figures it would be in our shopping center Madison Moore Debbie Blaisdell lol. Wonder if it was one of “them” lol

  32. serious crime forsure. totally warrants spending more on police in this valley. i mean when will we have a SWAT team?
