[HMNMH] – The 39th Annual Frontier Toyota/Henry Mayo “Drive Safe” Golf Classic surpassed the expectations of both golfers and event organizers by offering a remarkable day of entertainment and raising $295,000 for trauma and emergency care at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.

The tournament, held at the Valencia Country Club on Saturday, May 19, brought 180 golfers and many local and national sponsors, including Frontier Toyota, the title sponsor.

Players and guests enjoyed a full day of golf, food, fun activities and entertainment. The evening brought an awards ceremony as well as live and silent auctions, including sports and vacation packages, jewelry, and more. More than 100 volunteers helped to ensure that everyone had a great time.

“Henry Mayo is blessed with the incredible support of a major volunteer effort expertly led by Chairmen Bob Benjamin and Chris Luechtefeld,” said Diana Vose, President of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation. “We are pleased to report that $ 295,000 was raised to support Emergency and Trauma Services at Henry Mayo. “Our efforts in raising funds for life-saving services is supported significantly by our partnership with Frontier Toyota and the “Drive Safe” program in the Santa Clarita Valley.”

Since its 1974 inception, the tournament has raised more than $4.8 million to support the hospital.

Winning team for the 1st place Gross Trophy included Bradford Bean, Nicole Chase, Richard Contreras, Ben Edwards and Casey Kirkman.

Winning team for the physician trophy included Jeff Bowne, DC, Ryan Keith, Joshua Mitchell, DC, Tom Piazza and Dewey Pillai, MD.

The winners of the golf ball drop were $2,000 1st prize were Marcie Simpson and the $500 2nd prize went to Bob Washburn, who donated the $500 back to the hospital.The 50/50 raffle was won by David Rickett.
