Volunteers and Participants Bloom at Earth Arbor Day Festival

What could be a more perfect event for The ARTree than a festival that celebrates the earth, trees, and the environment that allows strong and sustainable growth! The occasion was Santa Clarita’s annual Earth Arbor Day Festival at Central Park.

Bob Hernandez and Dianne Foderaro nurtured the foundation for the days’s activities, and joined by a large number of ARTree volunteers who led both kids and adults in making flower pots from sandwich bags and hats from shopping bags.

The festival is one of ARTree’s most successful and well-attended activities, and puts a light on the organization’s mission to grow art awareness everywhere in Santa Clarita.

May Flowers Spring at April’s Library Class

The ARTree uses a variety of media for projects. For April, the technique of rubbing chalk and crayon on paper laid over an object created an image of a unique and colorful flower. These will become part of the completed mural which will be on display at the old Town Newhall Library.

Classes are designed for 4^th and 5^th grade artists, and will continue through May on the first and second Fridays of the month.

In May, The ARTree will release a Kickstarter campaign to complete funding for the next incarnation of The Ever-Changing Wall. Kickstarter lets organizations use crowd funding to allow backers to actively participate and contribute to projects like The Wall. Backers receive rewards for their pledge to the project, and one reward could be having your image on this larger-than-life size canvas.
