The Powerhouse Fire, which started Thursday afternoon in San Francisquito Canyon Road near LADWP’s Power House 1 – about 9 miles north of Copper Hill – has spread to 1,500 acres as of Friday morning.

The fire is reported at 15 percent contained, according to United States Forest Service.

Twenty-five more homes were evacuated in the Green Valley community, after evacuations were lifted last night at 10 p.m.

The fire is still burning northbound, and it’s located southwest of Green Valley.

All missing hikers have found their way out of the Angeles National Forest, and there were no serious injuries, a Palmdale Sheriff’s Station official said at 10:30 p.m. Thursday night.

“There are no longer any hikers missing,” said Lt. Steve Sylvies.

Fire officials estimated the blaze at “1,000-plus acres” at about 9:30 p.m., but the fire is difficult to map at night, making an updated acreage unavailable until Friday morning, said Supervisor Michael Pittman.

“It’s harder to map at night,” Pittman said, adding that there have been no injuries and the fire has continued to burn in a northwesterly direction, away from any homes.

“As of about 9 p.m., it was about a quarter-mile from … Green Valley,” Pittman said.
