The ArTree is bringing a full day workshop for adults on Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will show attendees the art of cold wax painting with pigment sticks.
Pigment sticks are oil paint that has been formulated with a very small amount of wax as a binder. They can be used as regular oil paint, extended with cold wax medium, and used with encaustics. The resulting cold wax paintings are incredibly luminous.
This hands-on workshop will give artists a working vocabulary for R&F Pigment Sticks ©. Guest artist, Caryl St. Ama will cover a brief history, intro to the product line and basic information for safe handling and studio practices. Participants will break away after the demonstrations to experiment with the Pigment Sticks.
Artists from all backgrounds will have a chance to see how this product can enhance their work or start a new direction altogether.
For $150, all materials will be supplied.
