A fast response by fire fighters saw a 4- to 5-acre brush fire contained within about an hour, said Stephanie English, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“We’ve got a line, we’ve got the fire contained,” English said. “They’ve got some structure protection out there, but things are looking good.”
No structures were affected by the fire, and no injuries were reported.
“We called a second alarm, which is a very large response, because of the winds,” she explained. “We had several helipcopters.”
The incident was reported at Bouquet Canyon Road, near Esquerra and Sinclair roads at around 2:30 p.m.
A containment line was announced at about 3:25 p.m.
