Los Angeles County is now accepting applications for the 2016 Green Leadership Awards program.
Projects submitted should include key sustainability achievements and a reduction of the carbon footprint.
In 2008, the Board of Supervisors established the Green Leadership Awards Program to highlight and promote best practices in protecting and improving the environment.
“Each year, our residents, businesses and local organizations find creative ways to reach sustainability goals and reduce their carbon footprint,” said Sachi A. Hamai, chief executive officer. “The Green Leadership Awards program brings recognition to these outstanding achievements.”
The winning GLA entries are shared with the public as a means of encouraging best practices in environmental protection and sustainability.
All County residents, public agencies, businesses, and non-profit organizations are eligible to participate in the Green Leadership Awards program. The Board of Supervisors will recognize the winning projects at a regular Board meeting in April as part of its annual observance of Earth Day.
