Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station took three men into custody for shoplifting, narcotics warrants and alleged vehicle burglary in two separate incidents in Canyon Country Sunday night and Monday morning.
Here’s the story from the station’s Facebook page:
“Working hand-in-hand with one of our local businesses on Sunday evening, we were able to apprehend two Lancaster men, one of whom had a no-bail felony warrant.
“Observant employees at a store located on the 19000 block of Golden Valley Road, Canyon Country, reported a theft.
“Reportedly, two men entered the store, took video games, and left without paying for them. The store’s loss prevention officer was able to detain one of the suspects.
“A responding deputy located the other suspect at a nearby restaurant. Not only were the suspects in possession of the stolen video games, but it was also discovered that both men had warrants out for their arrests.
“One suspect had three warrants, including a no-bail felony warrant for narcotics, and the other suspect had a misdemeanor warrant for narcotics.
“The two 29-year-old men from Lancaster were arrested, transported and booked at our station’s jail.”
The second incident took place just a few hours later:
“On Monday at approximately 2:30 a.m., deputies responded to a vehicle burglary call in a residential area on Sierra Highway in Canyon Country.
“A couple had reported hearing the sound of the doors on one of their vehicles being opened.
“The homeowner went outside and confronted a male adult suspect and assisted in detaining him until deputies arrived.
“Responding deputies arrested a 41-year-old male adult on theft charges.”
