The Honorable Mabel Segura Fernandez commemorated for her appointment as the new Consul General of Costa Rica in Los Angeles.

Dr. Willie J. Hagan celebrated for his leadership as President of California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Legendary jazz vocalist Barbara Morrison honored for her contributions to the jazz and blues music genre in recognition of April 30, 2018 as “International Jazz Day.”

The County’s 2018 Green Leadership commemorated in observance of “Earth Month.”

Honor of “Cambodian Genocide Remembrance Day” and the efforts made to preserve Cambodian culture and history.

Members of the Armenian community honored for “Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day.”

Patti Giggans recognized for the 19th Annual Denim Day.

The Armenian National Committee of America – San Gabriel Valley Chapter celebrated in honor of “Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day” and in recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the Montebello Genocide Monument.

Approval sought for an ordinance to amend Los Angeles County Code, Title 8 – Consumer Protection, Business and Wage Regulations, and Title 20 – Utilities to implement new and revised public health fees and modify business category definitions. (Item 3)

Supervisors Ridley-Thomas and Barger direct the Chief Executive Office to target the successful enrollment in Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services (LANES) of at least three healthcare provider organizations. (Item 6)

Supervisor Ridley-Thomas directs the Chief Executive Office and other Departments to report on the process that the County employs to select websites and print publications to advertise contract opportunities. (Item 7)

Supervisor Ridley-Thomas proclaims April 2018 as “Autism Awareness Month.” (Item 8)

Supervisors Kuehl and Ridley-Thomas instruct the Community Development Commission to report back with recommendations and any funding needed to develop a robust plan to affirmatively further fair housing. (Item 10)

Adopt findings, conditions and order for approval of Conditional Use Permit authorizing the continued operation of a 327-space mobile home park in the Rowland Heights Community Standards District. (Item 21)

Items to be considered during closed session:

  • United States of America v. County of Los Angeles, et al., lawsuit involving the Department of Justice and the County and Sheriff regarding mental health treatment in the County jails. (CS-1)
  • Interview and consideration of candidate(s) for appointment of the position of Director of Consumer and Business Affairs. (CS-2)
