[KiKstart] – One of Santa Clarita’s most prominent teen bands will raise money to benefit seminarians from St. Clare Church on Saturday, April 16 at 7 p.m.
Comprised of twin sisters Kalia and Keeli Javan, KiKstart usually have six to eight shows per year and at least two of those are fundraising events.
“It’s just so much more fun when you’re doing what you love and at the same time you know that it’s helping our community,” said Keeli Javan, a 17-year old drummer and vocalist.
Kalia, the lead vocalist and keyboardist, sings while Keeli plays the drums with the choir at St. Clare Church.
“We would hear announcements after the mass that there will be a bake sale or some other fundraising to benefit the two seminarians, Richard Lee and Jonathan Nestico, so we thought ‘hey, why don’t we raise funds for them in one of our concerts?’ and so on April 16th we will do just that.” says Kalia.
All proceeds from ticket sales as well as other donations collected will be donated to the seminarians of St. Clare Church.
The concert will take place at Vincenzo’s Pizza-Newhall at 24504 Lyons Avenue, with special guest KiKmom, Sally Javan.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Seats are limited, so make sure you purchase your tickets as soon as possible.
Admission is $10 each (children 5 years old and younger are free).
