[District Attorney] – A Lancaster man was charged Wednesday with the kidnapping and attempted murder of an 18-month-old girl found by police alone in a shed, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Deputy District Attorney Theodore Swanson said Brandon Michael Wynn aka Smooth (dob 8/10/81) faces 13 felony counts:
Two counts each of human trafficking to commit another crime; pimping and kidnapping.
One count each of first-degree residential burglary; forcible oral copulation; assault to commit a felony during the commission of a first-degree burglary; assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury; assault with a deadly weapon, bleach; child abuse and attempted murder.
Arraignment in case MA066536 was scheduled today but was continued to Aug. 4 in Department A1 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Antelope Valley Branch.
Wynn is charged with forcing two women into prostitution. On July 16, the defendant allegedly broke into one of the women’s home and proceeded to physically and sexually assault her, the prosecutor said. Some time later, the defendant allegedly kidnapped her, beat her, doused her with bleach and left the victim tied up and naked in the desert, the prosecutor added.
Soon after, Wynn abducted the victim’s baby from another location and abandoned her inside a shed in Palmdale, Swanson said.
Bail was set at more than $3 million.
The defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of multiple life terms.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
