This month, join the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library as they host two exciting events for book enthusiasts of all ages.
Beginning on Tuesday, May 5 through Saturday, May 9, 2015, community members are invited to a Spring Bag Sale at all three Santa Clarita Public Library branches during normal operating hours. For just $7.00, residents can fill a book bag with any books from the book store to take home and enjoy. Participants can save $1.00 by bringing in a blue Friends of the Library bag from a previous book sale.
On Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Old Town Newhall Library will host a special Author Dinner. The event will feature four successful “cozy crime and mystery” author panelists and a “thrilling” catered dinner. Cozy crime and mysteries are a very popular subgenre of crime fiction. Entertainment Weekly’s very own Anthony Breznican will serve as the panel moderator during the event. Tickets are $35 or discounted to $25 for current Friends of the Library members and can be purchased online at www.SantaClaritaFOL.com, or at any of the three library branches.
Sponsored by Friends of the Santa Clarita Public Library, author events are part of a series of programs designed to build excitement and interest in books and reading through workshops with published writers. All of the proceeds from the events, fundraising efforts, and programs sponsored by the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library go towards providing new materials and programming.
The Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library is located at 18601 Soledad Canyon Road. The Old Town Newhall Library is located at 34500 Main Street. The Valencia Library is located at 23743 W. Valencia Boulevard.
