Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
Good morning Saugus. This week we had 7 Part-1 crimes reported in the Saugus area. The first was an assault with a deadly weapon in the 22100 block of Empino Lane on February 16th. A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his roommate after an altercation.
We had a residential burglary in the 22400 block of Claremont Drive on February 11th. The victim came home and discovered her window was smashed. After checking the house she found that jewelry and other miscellaneous items were taken. Santa Clarita Detectives are actively working the case.
A second residential burglary was reported in the 28700 block of Mauch Street between February 7th and February 11th. A realtor discovered that fixtures were stolen from a vacant house she was showing.
There was a vehicle stolen in the 20300 block of Jay Carroll Drive in the early morning hours of February 15th. The victim discovered that his Datsun was stolen from the street in front of his residence overnight. Santa Clarita Deputies are searching for the vehicle.
There was a theft from an unlocked vehicle in the 22000 block of Kristin Lane between February 4th and February 10th. The victim found her trunk open in the morning. After checking her vehicle she discovered some high dollar jewelry and personal property had been taken.
We had a shoplift burglary from Albertsons on Copper Hill Drive on February 10th. A male was seen stealing multiple bottles of alcohol before fleeing the location. Detectives are following up on suspect information.
The last reported crime was a petty theft from a residence in the 28400 block of Santa Catarina Road on February 12th. A renter stole miscellaneous items when he moved from the location. Detectives are attempting to locate the suspect.
There were multiple arrests made in Saugus over the past week. The arrests were for assault and narcotics.
