Saugus, Zone 4 Update
Public Safety & Crime Prevention Information
Snapshot 01/20/2014 – 01/26/2014
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
With the hard work of proactive deputies, coupled with the involved citizens of Saugus, I am happy to state that there were no Part-1 crimes reported over the past week.
With this being said I wanted to remind you about how to help keep yourself from becoming a victim of property crimes. Please remember to lock your doors and roll up your windows when leaving your vehicles unattended. Always remember to take any items of value with you. If you can’t, please move them out of view or secure them in the trunk if possible. Most thefts from vehicles are crimes of opportunity. Criminals wander parking lots and neighborhoods searching for items of value in plain sight. If your vehicle is unlocked or the window is rolled down it makes it that much easier for them to steal these items. The best defense of these types of crimes is to not give the criminals an opportunity in the first place.
There were multiple arrests throughout Saugus over the past week. The arrests include assault, criminal threats, narcotics and DUI.
If you see anything suspicious, please call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121 and report it as soon as possible. Thank you for helping Saugus stay safe.
To report graffiti in the city please call (661) 25-CLEAN (252-5326) or visit www.santa-clarita.com.
