Here’s your Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information for Castaic/Val Verde (Zone 2) for the Week of 01/04/16- 01/10/16.
The following crimes were reported in Castaic/Val Verde during the week of January 4, 2016- January 10, 2016:
-Thefts from vehicles were reported from the following locations: 29000 block of Cambridge Avenue, 31000 block of Ridge Route Road, and 27000 block of Primrose Lane. Two of the vehicles were locked and their windows were broken to gain entry. Among the items reported stolen were electronics, sunglasses and U.S. currency. All of the vehicle thefts occurred this past Saturday in the early morning hours.
-A robbery was reported from the 31500 block of Castaic Road on 01/09/16 at 4:00 p.m. A suspect took items without paying for them and when he was confronted by store employees, he stated he had a weapon. The suspect left on foot and out of view. Approximately 15 minutes later, a theft was reported in the same area. Responding deputies located the suspect and detained him. During their investigation, it was discovered that he matched the description of the suspect in the earlier robbery. The suspect was arrested on both charges.
