Saugus, Zone 4 Update

The following Part 1 crimes were reported in Saugus over the past week:
There was an arrest of a residential burglary suspect on October 11th. The burglary occurred in the 22625 block of Copper Hill Drive. The victim returned home to find the suspect leaving his open garage. He detained the suspect until deputies arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody.
An attempt robbery occurred in the 29000 block of Discovery Ridge Drive on October 4th. The victim was approached by the suspect who asked for money. The victim was assaulted by the suspect after refusing to give up his money. The victim fought back and was able to escape. Deputies are searching for the suspect.
Three thefts from unlocked vehicles occurred between October 4th and October 5th. Two were reported in the 28000 block of Urbandale Avenue. Both victims discovered multiple items were taken from their unlocked vehicle overnight. The third occurred in the 28100 block of Meadbury Drive. The victim also discovered multiple items stolen from his unlocked vehicle overnight.
A petty theft occurred in the 20000 block of Plum Canyon Road between October 3rd and October 6th. The victim had a package stolen off her front porch. Detectives are checking for possible leads in this case.
Crime prevention tip: With there being three thefts from unlocked vehicles over the past week I would like to remind you to lock your vehicle when leaving it unattended. Remember to take all items of value with you when leaving your vehicle. If this is not a possibility then secure your items in the trunk or out of view.
