A Canyon Country man was arrested Friday night after deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station found him on top of a wall in possession of a flashlight, burglary tools and a homemade flamethrower, officials reported Tuesday.
Here’s more of the story from the station’s social media:
“Deputies were patrolling near Soledad Canyon Road and Flowerpark Drive late Friday night when they saw a lone bicycle propped up on the sidewalk.
“As they went closer to check it out, they observed a man standing 5 feet up on top of the retaining wall, shining a flashlight into the backyards of residences.
“Deputies stopped and detained the man pending a burglary investigation.
“In the suspect’s backpack, deputies found burglary tools and a homemade flamethrower.
“Joshua Sandoval, 31, of Canyon Country was arrested by deputies on weapons and burglary charges.
“On Tuesday, the case was presented to the District Attorney’s office. One felony count was filed for the possession of a flame-throwing device, one misdemeanor count for possession of burglary tools, and one misdemeanor count for attempt residential burglary.”
