Castaic and Val Verde, Zone 2

There were four Part 1 Crimes in Zone 2. One residential burglary was reported this last week in Castaic. A house on The Old Road had a “Specialized” bicycle taken from inside the unlocked garage.

There was one reported case of Child Endangerment. An adult driver was arrested for driving under the influence. The suspect was additionally charged with the “Child Endangerment” because they had two of their minor children in the vehicle at the time of arrest.

There was one theft reported in Val Verde. While visiting a resident off of Lincoln Avenue, the victim reported her vehicle was broken into and a laptop and personal check were stolen.

A theft by embezzlement was reported in Castaic. After giving several firearms to a family member for safe keeping, the victim heard they were sold without his permission. The victim believes the firearms were sold illegally and felt he needed to file a report.

Please remember to close your garage doors, and never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity.
