The Open Book Store in Valencia is hosting celebrity motivational speaker, Michael Roberts, on Saturday, June 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Attendees will hear excerpts from his autobiographical book, The Dark Path Chosen.

“If you’re a teenager or a parent, you want to read my book. If you simply want to get motivated & inspired, you want to read my book,” said Roberts.

Roberts turned to drugs and alcohol at an early age. By 13 years of age he was an alcoholic, by 15 he was introduced to drugs and by 17, he attempted suicide.

The compelling, powerful and true life story of how the divorce of his parents, alcohol and drug abuse led him to his suicide attempt by jumping off Dana Point, a 250 foot cliff.

Roberts survived the attempt but had to learn to walk, talk and adapt to life all over again.

The Dark Path Chosen explains everything behind the dark paths that he once chose.

He preaches the philosophy of Children See, Children Do, when you hear him speak or read his book, you will understand why as he watched, he learned and he did.
