The College of the Canyons Job & Career Center, in partnership with The Signal and KHTS AM 1220, will host its annual spring Job & Career Fair providing job seekers with employment opportunities in various industries and career fields.
The Job & Career Fair is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, in the East P.E. gymnasium, located on the college’s Valencia campus.
The fair, which is free and open to the public, will feature upwards of 80 employers seeking to fill entry, middle and upper level job opportunities — making this the biggest job fair event in the last eight years.
“The list of employers attending this event is impressive,” said Gina Bogna, the college’s Assistant Dean of Internships, Job Development & Career Center.
“Job seekers can expect to meet with representatives from industries ranging from governmental to private and non-profit to military and law enforcement,” added Bogna. “Companies and organizations including the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, Lundgren Management Corporation, A.S.C. Process Systems, Universal Studios Hollywood, Automobile Club of Southern California and Jay Nolan Community services are just a few examples of the types of employers that will be looking to hire.”
Once again, the fair’s very successful “virtual job fair” sponsored by KHTS, will allow job seekers to apply for jobs with companies unable to attend this year’s event.
Free workshops on topics including the effective use of the social media network LinkedIn and how to market yourself with an effective resume will also be available to job fair attendees.
The college will host a second job fair event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at the COC Canyon Country campus.
