The Cougars took on Moorpark College in the opening home game in conference play. The Cougars looked to end a streak of three straight ties and five ties in their last six games. The Cougars took the field strong and came out firing and defeated Moorpark 5-0.
The Cougars scored just seven minutes into the game on a shot by Maayan Schrager after Jesus Salazar steals it from the Moorpark defender.
The Cougars scored again after David Elizalde loft a ball into the box, which was put into the back on the net by Eduardo Medina.
The Cougars place another one into the net near the end of the first half on a goal by Uriel Rodriguez with an assist by Schrager.
The Cougars added a forth goal in the 69th minute when Schrager passes to Marvin Delgado who put it between the keeper and the net.
Abel Hinojosa put in the final dagger in the 82nd minute when he bend the ball around the goal keeper giving Schrager his third assist of the day.
Cougar keeper David Garcia only faced two shots on goal both in the first half in his shutout.
Maayan Schrager led the team with a goal and 3 assists.
The Cougars had a total of 24 shots with 12 on goal, while Moorpark had seven total shots with two on goal.
