Castaic/Val Verde: Public Safety and Crime Information Report for May 2, 2016- May 7, 2016
The following crimes were reported last week:
5/2/16
Petty Theft- 31000 block of Castaic Road
The victim reported miscellaneous pieces of clothing taken from his laundry while at the coin operated laundry facility. The crime occurred at 3:00 p.m.
5/3/16
Attempt Theft from Vehicle- 28000 block of Oak Valley Road
The victim’s vehicle had pry marks and scratches to the driver side door. No entry was made into the vehicle and nothing was stolen. The crime occurred in the early morning hours.
5/4/16
Theft from Vehicle- 31000 Ridge Route Road
An adult male was seen taking the victim’s purse from the front seat of her open vehicle. The crime occurred at 9:45 a.m.
Residential Burglary- 31000 block of Bridelwood Drive
The suspect cut the power to the home and entered through a rear door. The homeowner heard the intruder and yelled. The suspect ran out the door and left in an unknown direction.
Residential Burglary- 31041 Hasley Canyon Road
The homeowner reported numerous firearms and gold and silver coins stolen from his detached garage. The items were valued at $328,500. The crime occurred in the early morning hours.
5/5/16
Theft from Vehicle- 28000 Oak Valley Road
The victim’s cell phone and miscellaneous U.S. currency were taken from their vehicle in the early morning hours. There were no signs of forced entry.
Please remember to never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity.
