Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Canyon Country East:
(3) Residential Burglaries, (1) Shoplifting, (2) Commercial Burglary, (2) Robberies, (2) Grand Theft Autos, (2) Assaults, (3) Vehicle Burglaries.
During the past week there were several part 1 crimes reported in Zone 8. There were 3 residential burglaries reported. The first incident was reported near the 27000 block of Fahren Court. In this incident the victim left her home for 30 minutes and upon her return she found her front door open and several electronic devices missing from inside. There were no signs of forced entry into this location. Another incident was reported near 28000 Winterdale Drive. In this incident the suspect(s) forced open the victim’s garage access door and made entry into the house. The suspect stole a flat screen television and a laptop computer.
There were two Grand Theft Autos reported last week. One of the incidents was reported at Jason Drive and Oak Canyon Road. A silver 2007 Toyota Tacoma was stolen and has not been located. A 2007 Toyota Sienna was stolen near the 17600 block of Gladsworth Way. The vehicle was later recovered at the intersection of Jakes Way and Daniel Drive.
A strong armed robbery was reported at Solamint Road and Soledad Canyon Road. In this incident a male suspect ripped the purse off the shoulder of a female who was walking on Solamint Road. The victim was injured during the incident and treated by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The suspect left the location in a black coupe. There were no other details regarding the suspect in this incident.
There have been several thefts from vehicles in the “Fair Oaks Ranch” area. In these incidents the suspect(s) are walking through the neighborhood and checking door handles to find unlocked vehicles. The suspect will rummage through the glove box and center console of the vehicles and take items such as currency and electronic devices. People should always remember to lock their car doors when they park them to avoid incidents like these.
