Newhall Zone 6 Public Safety and Crime Prevention Info for the week of 07/28/14 through 08/03/14.
A look back at the crimes reported in the Newhall area last week.
A burglary occurred in the 21200 block of Trumpet Drive on Thursday the 31st, between 9:30 a.m., and 2:30 p.m. At the time of the report, the victim was unable to determine what had been stolen.
A burglary occurred in the 24400 block of Leonard Tree Lane on Wednesday the 30th, between 7:20 a.m., and 5:00 p.m. Entry into the residence was made by cutting a screen of an open window. Property stolen was electronics, jewelry, and cash.
A burglary occurred in the 20900 Judah Lane Tuesday the 29th, between 12:00 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Stolen from the residence was jewelry, medication, and “Joy Magano” luggage.
Unfortunately residential burglaries commonly occur during the day when most people are away from their homes working. As you come and go in your neighborhoods, be aware of your surroundings. Take note of suspicious vehicles. If there are people you don’t recognize lurking around and acting suspicious, call the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station (661)255-1121 and report them.
A semi-truck parked overnight in a remote area of Sierra Highway was burglarized and damaged Tuesday the 29th. The truck was searched through and the dashboard was damaged, but nothing appeared to be stolen.
A Catalytic Converter was cut off a 2003 “Acura” in the 21300 block of Nandina Lane between Wednesday the 30th at 11:00 p.m., and Thursday the 31st at 7:00 a.m.
An “iPhone” was stolen from a shopping cart in the 24100 block of Lyons Avenue Saturday the 2nd. The phone had been left unattended briefly when it was stolen.
A neon orange “Mongoose” bicycle was stolen from the carport area in the 22800 block of 15th Street between Sunday the 27th, and Monday the 28th.
An “Apple iPad” was stolen from a restroom in the 24500 block of Main Street Tuesday the 29th. The iPad was left unattended for approximately 90 minutes when it was stolen.
Remember to lock your doors and windows, don’t leave valuables in plain view, be aware of your surroundings, and report suspicious behavior.
