Canyon Country (West) Crime Report: Week of February 6-12
02/06/17
Residential Burglary- 26700 block of Claudette Street
Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s garage and stole a horse saddle, an electric saw, and rotor hammer.
02/07/17
Commercial Burglary- 27200 block of Camp Plenty Road
Person(s) unknown smashed the front door window to a business near the above location and ransacked the inside. According to an employee, no property was taken.
02/08/17
Vehicle Burglary- Near the intersection of Golden Valley Road and the 14 Freeway
Person(s) unknown smashed the victim’s rear window and unlatched the hood to gain access to the vehicle battery. Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s vehicle battery.
02/09/17
Commercial Burglary- 19100 block of Soledad Canyon Road
Person(s) unknown attempted to disarm an alarm panel to a business near the above location. Upon deputies arrival they found a rear door open however upon entry into the business nothing looked misplaced or taken.
02/10/17
Commercial Burglary- 20600 block of Soledad Canyon Road
Person(s) unknown pried open the rear door to a business near the above location. During the time of the report it is unknown if any property was taken.
02/12/17
Robbery- 19200 block of Soledad Canyon Road
While the victim was loading her vehicle with store items in a parking lot near the above location, a male suspect grabbed her purse off her arm and ran away.
IF YOU WITNESS A CRIME
If you see or suspect a crime is being committed, pay particular attention to the features of the offender(s) and any vehicles involved. Try to be prepared to provide at least the following about the offenders:
When reporting a crime by telephone, remain on the phone until the dispatcher is fully briefed with all the information necessary to dispatch the appropriate response personnel to the scene.
1. Age, race, height, and weight;
2. Hair color and style, beard and mustache;
3. Notable characteristics (acne, scars, glasses mental state, etc.). Clothing description;
5. Location where last seen;
6. Last known direction of travel;
7. Vehicle description and distinctive markings.
Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous may do so. It is more important that a response be dispatched as quickly as possible.
