Newhall Crime Report for the Week of August 22, 2016
08/23/16
Vehicle Burglary – 20500 block of Newhall Ave. Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s vehicle. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.
08/24/16
Attempt Burglary – 24400 block of Lyons Ave. Person(s) attempted to force entry into the business by way of a rear door. The suspect was observed on video surveillance. Entry was not made into the location.
Vehicle Burglary – 15th St. / Newhall Ave., Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s vehicle (1992 Honda Accord, four door, white in color) while parked at the location.
08/25/16
Vehicle Burglary – 23800 block of OakHurst Dr. Person(s) unknown shattered the victim’s passenger side window and stole a laptop.
Vehicle Burglary = 23600 block of Newhall Ave. =Person(s) unknown entered the victim’s locked vehicle by unknown means and stole an iPhone.
Robbery – 23300 block of Lyons Ave. The suspects entered the location and selected over- the-counter medications.The suspect placed the medication into his backpack making no attempts to pay for the concealed items. The suspect left the location in a vehicle.
08/26/16
Grand Theft -Arch St. / 5th St. Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s locked vehicle (1993 GMC Yukon, green in color) while parked at the location.
08/27/16
Residential Burglary -23600 block of Fambrough St. Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s residence through a rear door and stole items ( iPad).
It can take seconds for a thief to steal something from your car, so never leave valuables inside. Most vehicle crime is preventable. Don’t make your car a target for thieves by leaving such sought after items such as purses, wallets, lap top computers and cell phones in plain view. Always check you have closed all your windows and locked the doors before leaving your car unattended. While there’s no surefire way to totally prevent your car from being broken into keeping these tips in mind can make your car less of a target.
