One of Newhall’s iconic Christmas traditions will again get neighbors in the spirit of the season as Faith Community Church in Newhall prepares to host its 13th Annual “Festividad for Christ” community Christmas celebration on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As they do each year, church members will host guests for a free lunch, and provide families with frozen turkeys to take home for their own Christmas celebrations.
Kids can enjoy the snow play area and sledding, and boys and girls up to age 13 will receive wrapped gifts. Free, gently used clothing also will be available for those who need it.
“We look forward to hosting ‘Festividad’ every year and welcoming our neighbors for a joyous celebration,” Senior Pastor Steve Jackson said. “With more than 100 volunteers coming together to make ‘Festividad’ possible, it’s our way of giving back, and we are thankful for the opportunity to share God’s love during the Christmas season.”
“Festividad,” typically draws nearly 1,000 visitors, and organizers expect a similar number of guests this year.
Church members have been collecting presents for boys and girls ages 0-3, 4-7, and 8-13, and reaching out to local businesses to support the event over the last several weeks.
Faith Community Church is located at 24620 Meadowridge Dr., Newhall 91321, just south of Newhall Avenue.
