Man Killed in Solo Car Crash on SR-14 in Agua Dulce

fataltcA single-vehicle rollover collision resulted in the death of a man early Sunday morning.

The collision occurred on the southbound 14 Freeway in Agua Dulce north of Escondido Canyon Road. at 12:55 a.m.

“A white Jeep Wrangler left the roadway for an unknown reason and continued traveling southbound on the dirt for approximately 160 feet,” said CHP officials.

The Jeep then re-entered the roadway traveling across all traffic lanes, before colliding with the raised concrete curb on the east edge of SR-14 and overturning, according to CHP officials.

CHP officials said the driver was the only person in the car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by CHP Officer Pennington, and confirmed by Los Angeles County Fire Paramedic Metterridge.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision, although the investigation is ongoing, according to the CHP.

The driver’s name is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
