[KHTS] – FBI agents are seeking information about a convicted felon and registered sex offender who could be heading to Southern California.

Kevin Anthony Briggs was last seen in Northern California’s Bay Area and is suspected to be heading south towards Mexico. The advisory was issued the night of Feb. 20 and is effective throughout California and Mexico.

Briggs is wanted for his alleged involvement in the assaults of a female and of a police officer in Bozeman, Mont. Briggs escaped custody during his transfer to the Law and Justice Center in Bozeman. He is known for using multiple aliases including Aimee MacIntire, Kevin Bacon, Kevin Briggs, Kevin A. Briggs, Timothy McCoy, James Meismer and James Zenon Meismer.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the location and arrest of Briggs. He is wanted for state charges of aggravated assault, attempted sexual intercourse without consent, assault on a police officer and escape. Briggs is also wanted on federal charges of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.

Before arriving in California, authorities believe Briggs purchased a one-way bus ticket on Feb. 1 from Missoula, Mont. to Spokane, Wash. Information revealed during the investigation suggests he traveled to the Bay area and may be heading south to Mexico.

Briggs has been described as a white male 5’5” to 5’7” and 120 to 150 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a sunburst tattoo around his right nipple, a tattoo in his armpit and a tattoo on his lower lip. He has a double “snake bite” piercing on his bottom lip along with a  belly button piercing and pierced ears. Briggs was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a dark-colored hooded jacket or parka, black shoes and a dark baseball cap.Briggs has a violent criminal history and should be considered armed, dangerous and possibly suicidal.

Anyone with information regarding the location of this man should not approach him and instead contact local law enforcement immediately at 661-255-1121.
