The National Weather Service has issued a “hazardous weather outlook” calling for temperatures to reach 106 degrees Saturday and Sunday in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Los Angeles County officials have designated cooling stations including the SCV Senior Center at 22900 Market Street in Newhall. Hours to cool off at the Senior Center are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Today (Aug. 26): A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 103. North wind 5 to 15 mph becoming southwest.
Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Northwest wind between 5 and 15 mph.
Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11am. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 106. Heat index values as high as 109. North wind 5 to 15 mph becoming southwest.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. North northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.
Sunday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 106. North northeast wind 10 to 15 mph becoming southwest.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67.
Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 103.
Monday Night: Clear, with a low around 64.
Tuesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 100.
Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 63.
Wednesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98.
Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 60.
Thursday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98.
