When Jimmy Morrison’s grandmother is home with the help of a caregiver, he can tell she’s in great spirits and living a better life. That’s what Morrison is hoping to bring to residents of his own community through his new business, Home Helpers of Santa Clarita.

Home Helpers is the nation’s leading franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Home Helpers also offers Direct Link, its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor with GPS locator and an automated medication dispenser. Home Helpers and Direct Link of Santa Clarita serves residents in Canyon County, Newhall, Saugus, Valencia, Castaic, Stevenson Ranch, Sunset Pointe, Tesoro, Val Verde, Westridge, Newhall Ranch and the surrounding areas.

Morrison is married with two children and has spent the last 10 years as an Adoption Children’s Social Worker for Los Angeles County. He’s looking forward to working with a new age group and helping them receive the care they need.

“I enjoyed meeting with many great families over the years and have had a close-up view of the special needs and care that many in the community need every day. I’ve always dreamed of being a business owner that my experience in social work inspired me to pursue offering in-home, non-medical care for seniors, new moms and others who need help,” Morrison said.

Home Helpers of Santa Clarita offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person’s individual needs. Services offered include personal care such as grooming, bathing, ambulation, medication management and care management as well as respite care, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, companionship and transportation.

In addition to his professional background, Morrison has a very personal understanding of the impact having a quality caregiver can have on people, especially seniors who need a little help to live comfortably in their own homes.

“My grandmother, who lives in the Seattle area, has been living in and out of her home for the last 10 years, but when she’s at home, she typically has a caregiver. When I visit her and she’s in her own home with the help of a caregiver, I can always tell the difference. She is relaxed and happy and able to spend quality time with me rather than stressing about having her daily needs met. That’s the kind of service I hope to provide to people in my community. I want our Home Helpers business to make lives better and allow families to spend more quality time together,” Morrison said. “We want to give people their lives back.”

With Home Helpers, each individual client receives services tailored to meet their specific needs by caregivers who become an extension of their family. Home Helpers’ full-range of  empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety and comfort of their own homes.
