Los Angeles artist Sept will exhibit solo works at The MAIN gallery in Old Town Newhall from January 2 through February 2, with an artist reception set for Thursday, January 18 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Audiences are invited to explore Sept’s “anti-graphical” style that has no limitations.
Born in Japan, Sept graduated from Otis College of Art and Design with a BFA in Advertising. He completely abandoned all plans made during his four years at art school to pursue his dream of painting as much of the world as he can in his lifetime.
Sept’s style is based as of late on what he calls “a pinched nerve of the soul” and is, thus, hard to ignore. Using lines and waves combined with brief studies in hand-drawn typography, he attempts to help people feel a little less alone in the world through his art.
Sept describes himself as a die-hard screen printer, painter, illustrator and full-time muralist who has attacked more than 442 walls with spray paint in less than four years.
He has shown work at various galleries nationally and internationally, has been commissioned to design and create art for prominent companies, and has had his work featured on album covers and in music videos.
