Doors and Will Call Open 7 PM
Concert 8 PM
Repertory Rep East Playhouse | 24266 Main St, Newhall, CA 91321
OutWest celebrates the 5th anniversary of our Concert Series and storefront. Kicking off the weekend is a special evening of music with G.T. Hurley in concert.
Described as a blend of Waylon Jennings and Billy Joe Shaver on the Country side, with a seasoning of Tex Ritter and Wylie Gustafson (Wylie & the Wild West) on the Western music side, G.T. Hurley says his music is “Outlaw Western Music.” He explains his songs have “elements of cowboy, blues and Southern rock that combine to form ‘outlaw Western.”
G.T. Hurley travels in from Montana for this special one night appearance. A cowboy singer-songwriter, he breeds ranch raised Quarter Horses and makes his home under the shadow of the Crazy Mountains in Big Timber, Montana. Living, and working in the ranching community, he writes about the West as he sees it. A retired U.S. Marine, G.T. has worked as a cowboy and a hard rock miner. He writes and sings about the life he has lived. His memories of the taste of gunpowder, the smell of horse sweat, and the damp dark of the hard rock mine, will transport you into the stories he tells.
G.T. performs at festivals throughout the West opening for entertainers like Baxter Black and Jon Chandler, and plays the same stages as top performers Dave Stamey, Juni Fisher, and Sons of the San Joaquin.
His second CD “War Horse,” produced by Brenn Hill, was released earlier this year and follows his first acclaimed CD “Tough Horses,” produced by renowned Cowboy Entertainer Dave Stamey.
Be prepared for an evening of great music and an unobstructed view into who G.T. Hurley is: songwriter, musician and an American.
SCVTV will film, so come with a smile.
