New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Mary Alice Monroe will guest at an author event at Barnes & Noble in Valencia on Monday, July 31, at 7 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. No reservations are required to attend.

Monroe will discuss her most recent novel, “Beach House for Rent,” which tells a story of two women from two different generations who are bound together by a beloved beach house in South Carolina.

The novel will be adapted into a Hallmark Channel Hall of Fame Movie starring three-time Golden Globe nominee Andie MacDowell, and will premiere exclusively on the network in 2018.

Monroe’s novels have won multiple prestigious literary awards including several Readers’ Choice awards and the RT Lifetime Achievement Award. Most recently, Monroe was named by the South Carolina Academy of Authors as a 2018 inductee of the Literary Hall of Fame.

The meet and greet is hosted in partnership with the Santa Clarita Public Library and the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library.
