Santa Clarita Valley people of faith are invited to the first-ever music festival, GLORY SCV, to be held Wednesday.
“The goal is to bring Christians from all over the Santa Clarita Valley area and have a day where we can come together to enjoy music and have a family day,” said Barry McKeever, the GLORY SCV Director. “It’s an an afternoon and evening Christian musical festival.”
The event is scheduled to be held Wednesday, June 24 at 3:30 p.m. at Central Park in Saugus. Door are expected to open at 2:30 p.m.
The international sensation Rend Collective will headline GLORY SCV 2015, according to the website. Featured artists also include Phil Wickham, The Afters and other local Christian acts.
“It’s a fun day for the Christian community in Santa Clarita to get together,” McKeever said.
Tickets range from $10 to $75 and can be purchased here.
“We have a fantastic steering committee comprised of local church members representing our Christian community,” according to the website. We have a great vision for the future of GLORY SCV yet it depends on the body of Christ and of course the will of God. Family events like this demonstrate the values of being a Christian and the love God has for us all of us as we unite together and share in celebrating His love.”
Food will also be available for purchase at the event. Officials recommend blankets and beach chairs as well as beach umbrellas. Attendees will be asked to take down their beach umbrellas at 5:30 p.m.
Alcohol, smoking and pets are strictly prohibited, according to the website. A free kid’s area with supervised fun, games and activities will be available as well as a prayer tent.
“We look forward to seeing you at this year’s event,” McKeever said. “With the support of our local churches we can grow GLORY SCV into an annual event that unifies the body of Christ and glorifies our Lord.”
