The Santa Clarita Valley’s only radio station, KHTS AM-1220, your Home Town Station, has moved to Main Street in Old Town Newhall.

KHTS AM-1220’s new location is 24320 Main St. in Newhall and will be open starting early next week from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The building was originally the home of Santa Clarita icon, Newhall Hardware, for many decades, said KHTS AM-1220 co-owner Carl Goldman. KHTS AM-1220 and Total Financial Solutions purchased the building a year ago and renovated it.

“This has been a dream of ours for the past 14 years,” Goldman said. “We’re thrilled to be down in Old Town Newhall and look forward to the next few decades.”

KHTS AM-1220 offers up-to-date, accurate online news coverage as well as entertaining, informative radio and Restaurant Row — gift certificates for local Santa Clarita Valley restaurants and businesses for half the price of the product or service.

KHTS AM-1220, originally KBET, made its on-air debut in July 1989. The Goldman’s first purchased the station in 1990 and has continued to be a leader in information communication and entertainment for more than 25 years.

A new Coffee Kiosk is expected to move in next to KHTS AM-1220 as well as Total Financial Solutions, Goldman said. Total Financial Solutions will be opening toward the end of July and Coffee Kiosk by the end of the summer.

“We kept the original safe from Newhall Hardware,” Goldman said. “We plan to create a radio special in a few months and do an official opening of the safe. who knows, maybe we’ll find a relic from Al Capone.

“But seriously, we saved some of the historical contents form Newhall Hardware and plan to keep them on display.”

“We’re still moving in and putting the finishing touches on the new station but we can’t wait to share our new location with our community,” said Jeri Seratti-Goldman, co-owner of KHTS AM-1220.

“It’s exciting to see all the traffic and all of the potential of what we believe Old Town Newhall will transition into — becoming one of the highlights of Santa Clarita,” Carl Goldman said.
